- 40K
- 26K
- 13K
- 4 Mile
- 2 Mile
All races except the 2 Mile cross the New Waddell Dam near the start. The 40K route includes newly constructed shoreline trails and an out-and-back to Yavapai Point. Runners may encounter local wildlife such as wild burros along the trails.
Course and logistics
Courses are single-track desert trails with climbs, rock sections, and lake views. Aid stations are placed roughly every 1.6 to 5.4 miles and provide water, an electrolyte drink, snacks, and fruit; some stations are designated as "full" with additional food. The event is cupless; reusable cups will be available at registration or may be brought by participants.
The 40K includes a temporary crossing at Pipeline Cove that requires a short guided raft trip with life vests or the option to put on a PFD and swim; this crossing occurs twice on the 40K course. Crews are permitted only at the start/finish area. Only registered participants may cross the dam. No pacers are allowed. Courses are marked with ribboning, reflective medallions, and signs. Chip timing is used and awards are given to top finishers and all finishers receive a finisher award. Medical staff will be based at the start/finish.
