Event details
The Castle Creek Triathlon is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Lake Pleasant - Castle Creek Boat Ramp. The event includes triathlon, kayak/SUP, duathlon and aquabike categories. The race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon; participants must hold an annual or one-day USAT membership. There is a $7 park entry fee on race day. Packet pickup provides an envelope with bike frame and run numbers, a swim cap, timing chip and the event hoodie unless the participant opts out. Racer amenities include a long sleeve hoodie, post-race refreshments, finisher medals for all participants and awards for top finishers.
Distances, course and rules
- Olympic Triathlon: Swim 1500 m, Bike 40 km, Run 10 km
- Sprint Triathlon: Swim 750 m, Bike 22 km, Run 5 km
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 5 km, Bike 22 km, Run 5 km
- Sprint Kayak/SUP: Kayak/SUP 1500 m, Bike 22 km, Run 5 km
- Olympic Aquabike: Swim 1500 m, Bike 40 km
- Sprint Aquabike: Swim 750 m, Bike 22 km
Participants in the kayak/SUP division must provide their own kayak or SUP and personal floatation device. Swim waves use a rolling start format. The bike course is an out-and-back with restricted traffic; cyclists should share the road. The sprint bike is two loops and the Olympic bike is four loops; the sprint run is one loop and the Olympic run is two loops. There are no water stations on the bike; water is provided at run turnaround points. Wetsuit use follows USAT temperature rules and may affect award eligibility.
