Arkansas Marathon
The Arkansas Marathon, held annually in Booneville, Arkansas, is one of the South's oldest and most unique marathons. The event features multiple race distances including a full marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon, 10K, and 5K walk/run. The course offers scenic views of Mt.
Magazine, the tallest mountain in 11 states, and runs along the boundary between the Ozark and Ouachita National Forests. All races follow an out-and-back route, minimizing crowds and eliminating bus rides. Participants may encounter local wildlife such as deer and turkeys.
The race provides ample aid stations, restrooms, and post-race amenities including showers and a relaxation area with free beer and pizza. The event coincides with the October Daze Fall Festival, offering entertainment and food for spectators. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
