Thanksgiving Day Classic
The Thanksgiving Day Classic is held at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Arizona on Thursday, November 27, 2025. The event includes three distances:
- 10 Mile
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 10 Mile and 5K are run on certified courses. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Strollers and baby-joggers are allowed but must start at the back of the pack.
Race logistics and awards
A portion of race proceeds is donated to the Peoria Diamond Club, which provides grants to local charities including Special Olympics Arizona; Arizona Road Racers has donated over $68,000 to these charity efforts to date. The event also collects unwrapped toys for the Peoria Toy Drive at packet pickup and on race morning. Adult 5K and 10 Mile registrations and all 1 Mile entries include a long-sleeve technical race shirt. Youth shirts are available as an add-on during registration for a separate fee.
There is a 10:00 am cut-off for the 10 Mile race, which amounts to a minimum 15 minutes per mile pace; finishers after the cut-off do not qualify for an age-group pie. Pies are awarded to the top three in each age group for the 5K and 10 Mile. Registration is online only through RunSignUp and there are multiple packet pickup locations in the days before the race.
