Athens Ohio Marathon

Website

The Athens Ohio Marathon, held annually in Athens, Ohio, is the state's longest consecutively run marathon, established in 1968. The race starts in Uptown Athens near Ohio University's College Green and follows a scenic, fast, and flat course along the Hockhocking-Adena Bikeway through the Hocking River valley. Despite Athens' hilly reputation, the marathon course remains in the valley, making it an ideal route for runners aiming to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Both the full and half marathon courses are USATF certified and well marked. The event offers a rich historical atmosphere combined with beautiful springtime views and finishes on the Ohio University track. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
