Event overview
The HOKA Bandera Endurance Trail Race takes place January 10-11, 2026 at Hill Country State Natural Area in Bandera, Texas. The event includes the following distances:
- 100 km
- 50 km
- 25 km
- Youth 1 mile
The 100 km is a standalone event run as two laps of the main loop. A Saturday non-competitive 50 km option exists; finishers of that start group receive a finisher medal but are not eligible for overall awards. The 100 km serves as a Western States qualifier for runners who complete it within 17 hours and enter the Western States lottery.
Course, support, and logistics
The main loop is 50 km; the 100 km is two full laps and the 25 km follows a cutover before rejoining the main course. All laps run counterclockwise. Expect roughly 3,300 feet of elevation gain and loss per 50 km lap (about 6,600 feet for the 100 km). The course is rocky and technical, with mostly short but steep climbs and descents and one consistently flat section near YaYa aid station.
All aid stations offer full support; Lodge, Equestrian, and Chapas provide hot and cold foods and drinks, while Boyles, Nachos, and YaYa offer regular food and drink. Races are chip timed with ankle-worn chips. Drop bags may be self-placed at aid stations; limited race delivery is provided for some 100 km aid stations. Pacers are allowed for the 100 km after one full loop, with registration required. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
