Event overview
The Bear Country races take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Brevard, North Carolina. The start and finish are at Oskar Blues Brewery, 342 Mountain Industrial Drive. The 5k and 10k courses run along the Brevard greenway and include mountain views. A 1k Cub Crawl for children 12 and under is also part of the event.

Race details
On-course amenities for the 5k and 10k include chip timing, a wooden finisher medal, a long sleeve race shirt, a donation to Mountain Roots, and an Oskar Blues beer option. Strollers are allowed. Dogs are welcome at the brewery but are not permitted to run with participants; running with an animal leads to disqualification from award categories and timing. Service animals may be allowed with prior approval at least five days before the event and supporting documentation.
Virtual participants receive mailed swag the week after race day and are not eligible for awards. Transfers to a virtual entry, to another runner, or to a different distance are allowed up to five days before the event; later transfers require organizer assistance. The event follows a no-refund policy and does not allow deferrals. Awards include top finishers by gender, masters and grand masters, and age-group awards (pint glasses) for top three male and female times in standard age categories.
