Bear Trap Trail Races
The Bear Trap Trail Races, held annually in Tooele County, Utah, offer marathon, 23K, and 10K trail running events through the scenic Settlement Canyon and surrounding Oquirrh Mountains. The courses feature a mix of forested singletrack, rugged dirt roads, exposed ridgelines, and foothills with stunning views of Tooele Valley and nearby peaks. The marathon includes three loops totaling about 26.5 miles with 8,000 feet of elevation gain, including a challenging summit of 9,600-foot Tooele Peak.
The 23K and 10K races cover shorter loops with significant singletrack sections. The event emphasizes a low-key atmosphere focused on natural beauty and trail challenge, with aid stations at the start/finish area only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
