Bear Trap Trail Races
The Bear Trap Trail Races, held annually in Tooele County, Utah, offer a scenic and challenging trail running experience through Settlement Canyon and the Oquirrh Mountains. The event features three race distances: a marathon (~26.5 miles), a 23K (~14.8 miles), and a 10K (~6.2 miles), each consisting of unique loops combining forested singletrack, rugged dirt roads, and exposed ridgelines with significant elevation gains. Runners enjoy stunning views of Tooele Valley and surrounding peaks, with courses marked by color-coded trails.
The race emphasizes a low-key atmosphere focused on the natural course, with aid stations at the start/finish area and modest awards for top finishers. The event is USATF sanctioned. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
