Best Of The West Marathon & Half Marathon
The Best of the West Marathon and Half Marathon take place at West Branch State Park Beach in Ravenna, Ohio. This event celebrates a newly designated section of the Buckeye Trail, a state-recognized trail known for its scenic oak-hickory forests and diverse wildlife. The marathon is an out-and-back course around the eastern end of the lake, crossing a dam and reaching the campground entrance before returning to the beach.
The half marathon is point-to-point, finishing at the marathon turnaround with shuttle service back to the start. The relatively flat trail features about 790 feet of ascent, suitable for both new and experienced runners and hikers. Participants receive a triblend tee and finisher medal, with awards for top finishers across various age groups.
The event supports the Crooked River Chapter of the Buckeye Trail Association and is part of the Ohio Endurance Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
