Bethel Turkey Trot : Bethel, CT
The Bethel Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving day 5K event held in Bethel, Connecticut and organized by Steep Endurance with presentation support from Ingersoll Auto of Danbury. Course and logistics
The race is a loop course based at the Bethel Municipal Center, 1 School St., Bethel, CT 06801. The first 1/3 mile and the final 1/3 mile follow the same streets in reverse. The course is described as moderately uphill in the first half and downhill in the second half. A course map is provided by the organizers. Packet pickup is available the day before at The Athlete’s Source in Bethel (midday to early evening) and on race day at the Municipal Center. Parking is available in the Municipal Center back lot and nearby public parking in downtown Bethel.
Awards, extras and rules
Awards are given to the top three in each age group for both men and women in the following divisions: Overall, 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. T-shirts are provided to entrants who register by the stated deadline, subject to supply. A portion of proceeds supports Ability Beyond and Bethel Parks and Recreation. Post-race refreshments and a multi-item raffle are part of the event. Organizers emphasize following the marked course, no littering, and that race entries and bibs are not transferable.
