Event details
The Born to Run 5k takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Confluence Brewing Company, 1235 Thomas Beck Road, Des Moines, IA 50315. The event uses a scenic, looped trail course and includes both a timed 5K and a 1 mile fun run. Proceeds from the event will benefit Mary's Helping Hands, which provides basic necessities for families with young children.

Logistics and extras
Registration prices listed are $45 for standard entry, $0 for ages 0-5, and $24 for ages 6-12; registration closes November 7, 2025 at 11:59 pm CST. Packet pickup is available Friday, November 7 at Fitness Sports (8810 Swanson Blvd, Clive, IA 50325) from 4:00-6:00 pm, and on race day at Confluence Brewing Co from 8:00-8:30 am. The event is professionally timed with chip timing, live online results, and finish line video. In-person racers age 13 and over will receive a branded beanie, drawstring bag, race bib, and vouchers; children 12 and under receive a race bib, ice cream voucher, and admission to Blue Zoo and SpareTime. Family pricing is applied for groups of four or more with a $5 saving per entry. Walkers are welcome, running/jogging strollers are recommended, and dogs are allowed on leash.
