Course and logistics
The course is inside Brazos Bend State Park, located south of Houston and Sugar Land. Surfaces include hard crushed rock, soft hiking trails under tree canopy, and horse trails. The organizers describe the course as 99.9% flat with a single 10-foot hill. Spring conditions are typically warm and humid, with the possibility of cooler mornings. Wildlife in the park includes many bird species and American alligators; the organizer notes there have been no incidents.
Packet pickup is available before race day at an offsite location and at Elm Lake Pavilion. Parking shuttles operate between overflow lots and Elm Lake. Registered runners, pacers, volunteers, and campers do not need a park pass; other guests aged 13 and over require a special events state park pass. Onsite camping in event areas and parking lots is not allowed; camping reservations for the state park use the official reservation system, and primitive/RV parking is available across the street at BBRV without reservation.
