Event overview
The Budds Creek Turkey Trot takes place on November 22 at Budds Creek Motorsports Park in Mechanicsville, MD. The event offers in-person and virtual options. Proceeds benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Points from the races count toward the organizer's Year-Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, Back of the Pack, and Fall Series.

The course uses dirt motocross and cross-country trails with frequent elevation changes and a flat dirt track section. The half marathon course has nine water stations at approximately miles 1.1, 3.1, 3.5, 5.1, 6.55, 7.65, 9.65, 10, and 12. The 10k has three water stations at about miles 1.1, 3.1 and 5.1. The 5k has two water stations at about miles 1.1 and 2. Gatorade will be available at some stations; locations may change.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations received before November 12; sizes for race-day registrants are not guaranteed. Registration fees prior to November 15 are $30 (5k), $45 (10k), and $65 (half); fees increase after that date and rise by $5 on race morning. Live results will be posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second place in standard age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
