Event overview
The 2025 Indian Head Turkey Trot is a road running event on November 22 at the Indian Head Rail Trail in White Plains, Maryland. The event offers both an in-person and a virtual race option. Points from the races count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack Series, and the Fall Series. The race benefits Lovepaws, a community outreach program focused on shelter intake prevention in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, Maryland.

The course is a flat, paved out-and-back that runs along creeks and through woods on the Indian Head Rail Trail. The event is chip timed. Runners receive a finisher’s medal and a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for those registered before November 12. Registration fees differ by distance and increase after October 31; prices also increase on race morning.
There are three water stations on the 10k at about miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one on the 5k at about mile 1.55; Gatorade may be available at some stations. Port-a-johns will be near the check-in area. Packet pickup and race day registration are available at the event. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and final results with series points will be posted after the race.
