Courses and logistics
Most races use a 2-mile loop on double-track dirt road with about 128 feet of elevation gain per loop. The 100-mile distance uses the same loop and has roughly 6,000 feet of total climb; 24-hour runners who reach 82 miles may continue toward 100 miles under an extended time allowance. The half marathon is a 13-mile tour of reservation roads with about 1,500 feet of climb and four aid stations at miles 4.5, 6, 7.5 and 10. An aid station at the softball field will offer real food and there are non-porta-potty bathrooms on site. RV parking is limited to 20 spots (first come, first served); tent camping is allowed on the softball field and car camping is available in the adjacent dirt lot. Participants receive a race shirt in pre-race materials and a completion medal; top finishers receive handcrafted awards. 100-mile finishers receive buckles, with buckle availability limited to those who signed up before October. All net proceeds support the Cahuilla Band of Indians Youth and Family Programming. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
