Cal Tri Newport Dunes
Cal Tri Newport Dunes, hosted at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort & Marina in Newport Beach, California, is the world’s longest-running triathlon at the same location, dating back to 1978 as the Human Race Triathlon. It features 12 event options, including six Olympic-distance formats (Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 1640-yard Swim, 10K) and six Sprint formats (Triathlon, RunBikeRun, SwimBike, SwimRun, 400-yard Swim, 5K). The race serves as Cal Tri Events' National Championship with a typical field in the 1,500–2,000 range.
The bayfront course and amenities provide a beginner-friendly, festival-like atmosphere; water is wetsuit-legal (~65 F) and parking is available.
