Event details
The Champaign Aruna Run takes place on October 18, 2025, at the University of Illinois Arboretum, 1800 South Lincoln Avenue, Urbana, IL 61801. The event distance is 5k.
The event welcomes walkers and runners of all ages with no minimum age or ID requirement. Strollers are allowed; participants pushing strollers are asked to start toward the back. Dogs are not permitted to participate on the course but may be on the sidelines. Parking is available at the Arboretum, on-street, and in the College of Veterinary Medicine parking lot. A course map, packet pickup on race day, and event swag are provided.
Registration, fundraising and awards
Registration fees vary by date: $35 (Aug 8 - Sep 22), $40 (Sep 23 - Oct 12), and $45 (Oct 13 - Oct 18). Registrations received by September 28 are guaranteed a t-shirt and size. The event states that 100% of registration fees and additional donations go to the Aruna Project; a majority of funds raised support Training Centers in Southeast Asia.
Awards and incentives include an Aruna Tote Bag and a $50 Aruna Shop gift card for the top female and male finishers and for the top fundraiser. Team and fundraising incentives: for every ten people on a team, the team captain earns a $25 Aruna gift card; for every $250 raised individually, the fundraiser earns a $25 Aruna gift card.
