Event overview
The Chappie James Bridge Run takes place on October 18 in Pensacola, Florida. The course starts at the base of the 3-mile Pensacola Bay Bridge on the Pensacola side and runs over the bridge into Gulf Breeze, finishing next to The Bridge Bar and Sunset Lounge. The event was formerly known as the Bridge to Bridge 5K. All finishers receive a medal. A post-race event at The Bridge Bar and Sunset Lounge includes food, refreshments, and live music. Buses transport participants from Gulf Breeze back to Pensacola after the race.
Logistics and support
The race partners with the Gulf Breeze Rotary Club; a portion of each entry goes to the club’s local scholarship foundation. Awards include overall top male and female, overall masters and grandmasters, top three in each age group for male and female, and top three male and female walkers. Packet pickup and late registration are scheduled the Friday before at Running Wild, 3012 E Cervantes Street (afternoon hours), and on race day at the Visitor Welcome Center, 1401 E Gregory Street. Parking is available on side streets in the East Hill area. Registration pricing is tiered: $35 (early), $50 (standard), and $60 (late). The event organizer is Run Pensacola.
