Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k
The Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, with the start and finish next to Albemarle High School at 2775 Hydraulic Rd, Charlottesville, VA. The event includes these distance options:

The 5k course runs on surrounding neighborhood roads and features flat stretches and mild rolling hills, with a total elevation gain of 133 feet. Chip timing is provided by Blue Ridge Timing. Parking is available at Albemarle High School, Journey Middle School, and Greer Elementary.
Registration, packet pickup and race policies
Race registration opens September 1 with an initial fee of $35. Sign-up by October 26 guarantees a race shirt while supplies last. Late registration increases the fee to $48 and is available in the days immediately before the race. Packet pickup is held at Connect Church (2080 Lambs Rd) on November 25 and November 26, and race day packet pickup is available at Albemarle High School’s main track entrance. A virtual option allows participants to complete the 5k between November 27 and November 30, 2025. Beneficiaries are the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry. Race rules include no dogs on the course and strollers allowed only in the last wave. Local Albemarle EMT medical services will be on site. Volunteers receive a 50% race discount; about 25 volunteers are needed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
