Chernisky Classic

The Chernisky Classic is an annual family-friendly running event held in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, featuring 5K and 10K out-and-back courses on the nationally recognized Ghost Town Trail, named the 2020 DCNR Trail of the Year. The race takes place the Saturday after the Fourth of July and includes a free Firecracker Race for children aged 8 and under. Participants enjoy a well-marked course with water stations and restroom facilities at the start/finish line at the Young People's Community Center.

Firetrucks and firefighters are present to engage with kids, and all proceeds support the Cambria County Regional Firefighters Association's training facility. The event offers commemorative shirts and prizes for top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
