City of Lakes Half Marathon
The City of Lakes Half Marathon, held annually in South Minneapolis, is a celebrated event in the Twin Cities running community with over 60 years of history. The USATF-certified course loops around scenic Lake Harriet and Bde Maka Ska, offering beautiful views for runners and spectators alike. The race features chip timing, pacers for various goal times, and aid stations approximately every 5K.
Participants receive a traditional City of Lakes pint glass upon finishing, with no medals awarded to reduce waste. The event supports competitive and recreational runners, including prize money for top finishers and age group awards. Registration is limited to 1,500 runners.
