Event overview
The Colorado River Run is a two-day trail running event held over Thanksgiving weekend in Lago Vista, Texas, at Turkey Bend Park (16900 Cherry Ln). The event includes multiple race distances on trails along the Colorado River and is scheduled for November 28-29, 2025. Courses use riverbank and single-track trails with dirt paths and occasional technical sections, and organizers apply Leave No Trace and other eco-friendly practices.
Race details and logistics
- 100 Mile Ultramarathon - 10 laps of a scenic 10-mile loop; 36-hour cutoff
- 50 Mile Ultramarathon - 5 laps of the 10-mile loop; 36-hour cutoff
- 50K - ultramarathon distance option
- Marathon (26.2 miles) - 12-hour cutoff
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - 9-hour cutoff
- 10K (6.2 miles) - 9-hour cutoff
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) - family-friendly option
The 100M course alternates lap direction each circuit. Fully stocked aid stations provide hydration, nutrition, and basic medical support; common items listed include fruit, cookies, breakfast bars, chips, and soft drinks. Pacers are allowed for the 100M (after mile 50) and 50M (after mile 30) with registration, a fee, age restrictions, and on-course rules. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Camping is available on a limited, first-come, first-served basis at the park. Animals are not permitted at the event. Packet pickup is available at Turkey Bend Park on the days before and of the race. A volunteer-run program offers shifts, shirts, meals, community service hours, and race-credit benefits.
