Salmagundi Trail Race (Trail Roots Running)
The Salmagundi Trail Race is scheduled for November 8, 2025 in Dripping Springs, Texas at 23610 Hamilton Pool Rd. The race is organized by Trail Roots Running and is part of the Texas Trail Championship. The event benefits Austin Sunshine Camps. Post-race features include live music and local food trucks. Awards include overall top three finishers male and female, Masters (50+) first place male and female, and 5K first place overall male and female. Custom finisher awards are provided by Southern Forge and Mill; all finishers receive a finisher award. Runners who register by October 15 are guaranteed race swag.
Course, distances and rules
The course follows trails along the Pedernales River in the Texas Hill Country and includes a mix of double track, single track, jeep trail, rolling hills, and wide gravel trails. Day use at the park is $5 per person (cash only) and the organizers cover participant park entry. Camping is not allowed. Amenities include port-o-toilets and park restrooms. Ranch rules require pets on leash.
Distances and elevation gains:
- 5K - 180 ft gain; no aid stations
- 10K - 270 ft gain
- Half Marathon (13.1) - 700 ft gain
- Marathon (26.2) - 1400 ft gain (two 13.1 loops)
- 50K - 1670 ft gain (two 13.1 + 10K)

- Under 150 lbs require 20 lb weight; over 150 lbs require 30 lb weight
- Mandatory weigh-in at packet pickup and at finish
- Weight must be non-consumable, carried in a ruck or vest
- Any backpack acceptable; no trekking poles allowed
