Event overview
Conquer The Beast is a Last Beast Standing running event at Danish Alps State Recreation Area in Hubbard, NE. Competitors must consecutively complete a lap of 6.706 kilometres (4.167 mi) in less than one hour. The race continues until only one runner remains to complete a lap; that runner is the sole official finisher and winner. All other runners receive a DNF (Did Not Finish). Registration opens on Wed. Oct 1, 2025.
Course, location and logistics
The course is a 4.167 mile loop that encircles Kramper Reservoir. The recreation area includes a 219-acre lake and about 520 acres of parkland. Two separate trails run around the reservoir - one for hiking and biking and another for horseback riding. Camping options at Danish Alps include Electric Plus, Basic and Equestrian Electric Plus sites. There are 34 gravel pads with electrical hookups, two ADA cement pads with hookups, seven gravel pull-through pads with hookups, one ADA cement pull-through pad with hookups, and 22 Basic sites. Campers have access to water, modern restrooms and showers. During peak season (April 15 to Oct 15) half the campsites may be reserved up to 180 days in advance; other sites are first-come, first-served using a self-service payment system. Discounts listed are 25% for military and first responders and 10% for donors; proof is required within 24 hours. Participant items include a race T-shirt, speed cup and mini portable power pack; each participant receives a race medallion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
