About the race
The Coon Dog Day 5K is an annual running event held in Saluda, North Carolina, centered around McCreery Park in downtown Saluda. The race follows the traditional Coon Dog Day 5K route and includes chip timing for all participants. It serves as a fundraiser for Saluda Elementary School, supporting literacy and educational resources.
The event also features a KIDS' Fun Run with clock timing and a new route for children. Participants can enjoy a festive atmosphere with a daylong festival of crafts, food, and music. Awards are given in multiple age categories with locally made prizes.
