Event overview

Cruel Jewel 50 is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The race is a point-to-point trail event that runs from Blairsville to Blue Ridge. The course includes ten aid stations and records over 17,000 feet of elevation gain and 17,000 feet of elevation loss.

Course and logistics

The course totals 57.5 miles and is composed of:

  • 50 miles of trails
  • 7.5 miles of mountain roads

Runners will encounter single-track trails that can be technical, steep ascents and steeper descents, rocks, roots and ridge lines. Notable features on the route include an historic steel bridge spanning the Toccoa River, the Dragon's Spine, ferns, old growth poplar trees, and hardwood forest sections. The race takes place within the Chattahoochee National Forest in the North Georgia Mountains.

Live tracking and bib numbers will be published the week of the race. The race packet will be available no later than two weeks before the event; organizers do not anticipate major changes from 2025.
