Crystal Lake Aquathon

The Crystal Lake Aquathon is the only aquathon event in Illinois, taking place at the Three Oaks Recreation Area in Crystal Lake. Scheduled for July 20, 2025, this annual event features multiple race options, including a Sprint Distance (500m swim, 5k run), Olympic Distance (1 mile swim, 10k run), and a 2-mile swim. A special Kids' Race is also available for ages 7-12, along with an Adaptive Race for participants needing assistance.

Proceeds benefit Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois, and all racers receive finisher medals. The event promises a post-race celebration with food and awards for top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
