Event details
The Cuyamaca 100k takes place in Julian, California, within Cuyamaca Rancho State Park on October 4, 2025. The event distance is 100K and the course starts and ends at Camp Cuyamaca off Highway 79. The race is a 2026 Western States qualifying event.
Course
The course lies mostly inside Cuyamaca Rancho State Park and is made up of three distinct loops that return to Camp Cuyamaca. The first loop covers 31.5 miles on the western side of the park and approaches Cuyamaca Peak, which reaches 6,500 feet. The second loop is 12.6 miles and passes near Oakzanita Peak in the southeast corner of the park. The final loop is 18.3 miles through the northern park section; it briefly leaves the park to enter Anza Borrego and follows sections of the Pacific Crest Trail with desert views before returning to the park meadows and the finish. The layout minimizes backtracking and repeats by using different trails on each loop. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
