Da Deer Run Run - overview
Da Deer Run Run takes place on December 6, 2025, at Timber Pointe Nature Center, 20 Timber Pointe Lane, Hudson, IL 61748. This is the fifth year the race is held at Timber Pointe. Partial proceeds will benefit Timber Pointe Nature Center. Post-race food and beverage are provided inside Stern Lodge near the start/finish area. Sweatshirts are available for participants who pre-register before the event cutoff. The Deer Run 8K serves as the Lake Run Club season finale; registration for that event includes a Lake Run Club membership or renewal through the following year.
Course and events
- 8K - 50/50 mix of paved trail, wide double track, and short single-track sections.
- 4K - one lap of the 8K course; aimed at first-time trail runners or youth cross country runners.
- 3 Hours + 8K - participants run laps before the 8K; overall winners are by most laps and fastest 8K time.
The event is cross country style but mostly runs on a one-wide double track with some gravel road sections. Wildlife such as deer, wild turkey, and possible bald eagles may be seen. The race is a trail run and will proceed in varied weather conditions, including snow, rain, or mud. Timing is chip based by itsracetime.com and results are posted the day of the event.
