Des Moines Women's Half Marathon

Event overview

The Des Moines Women’s race weekend takes place May 2-3, 2026 in Des Moines, Iowa. The event is organized by RipRoar Events and is based at 2400 George Flagg Pkwy, Des Moines, IA 50321. Packet pick-up is scheduled on both days of the weekend. A City of Des Moines trail use fee of $1.00 applies to participants. The weekend includes in-person and virtual options.

Course and format details: the half marathon begins with a lap among downtown high-rise buildings and finishes in a large urban park. Routes include a loop around a lake, crossings of bridges inside Gray’s Lake, and passage through the Arie den Boer Arboretum. The 10K follows much of the half marathon route, including both Gray’s Lake bridges and the arboretum. The 3-person relay splits the half marathon into legs of about 4-5 miles with designated exchange zones and special parking near Jasper Winery; each relay member receives full half marathon swag. The Saturday 5K is presented with community activities such as a braid bar, yoga, and outdoor spin classes. Virtual race options mirror the in-person events.
