Double Dipsea
The Double Dipsea is a challenging 13.7-mile trail race held annually at Stinson Beach, California, celebrating its 55th running in 2025. The course follows the legendary Dipsea Trail from Stinson Beach to Mill Valley and back, featuring steep hills, numerous stairs, and stunning views. Unique to this race is its handicapped start format, where slower runners begin first and faster runners start last, creating constant passing on the narrow single-track trail.
This design tests runners' patience, perseverance, and ability to navigate crowded, technical terrain. Founded by Walt Stack, the race welcomes all abilities willing to embrace its demanding and historic course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
