Ely Mountain Trail Race
The Ely Mountain Trail Race, held at Balsam Forebay near Shaver Lake, California, offers two challenging trail running events: a 14K (8.7 miles) and an 8K (4.9 miles). The 14K course features approximately 1,800 feet of climbing, including a steep 1,000-foot ascent up Ely Mountain, rewarding runners with stunning views of the Sierra Nevada, Shaver Lake, and the valley below. The 8K route is slightly easier with about 800 feet of elevation gain but still delivers a true mountain trail experience.
The race includes custom shirts, finisher medals, podium awards, post-race food, and a special King & Queen of the Mountain award for the fastest ascent segment.
