Event details

SAR Wild Run is scheduled for Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Shaver Lake, CA (near Dinkey Creek Rd and Fishing Club Rd). The event is a Fresno County Search And Rescue fundraiser held on the south side of Shaver Lake at about 5,400 feet elevation. The start area is located a quarter mile north of the intersection of Dinkey Creek Rd and Fishing Club Rd. Packet pickup is available at Fort Washington Fitness on August 8 (11:00 am to 2:00 pm) and on race morning near the start line. The event takes place rain or shine; no refunds.

The 5k course begins with a descent to the water's edge, then a roughly one mile, 200-foot high scramble of switch-backs along a mountainside. The 10k Trail Run is a 20 point race in the CLASSIC Runner of the Year Series. Participants receive chip timing, a technical event shirt, a custom finisher medallion, downloadable photos, finisher certificate download, and access to a BBQ and beer garden prepared by the Fresno County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Team. Additional on-site items listed by organizers include cooling towels, ice cream, unique awards, and race timing services. Dogs are not permitted for safety.
