Emma Creek Classic 5K/1M : event overview
The Emma Creek Classic 5K/1M is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Hesston Middle School. This is the 35th annual Hesston Recreation and Community Education Emma Creek run/walk and serves as a fundraiser to support youth programs. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 1-Mile Fun Walk/Run
The first 500 registrants will receive a swag bag and a 2026 Emma Creek t-shirt. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Hesston Aquatic Center, 300 N Ridge Rd, and day-of packet pickup is also offered. Parking will be at the stadium, and a brunch will be provided for runners. A course map is available online.
Format, awards and rules
Awards are given to the Top 10 overall finishers and the top 3 in each age group. Age groups are: 8 & younger; 9-11; 12-17; 18-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80-84; and 85 and older.
The 5K course is certified as fast and flat for women and girls. Timing chips are used and medical aid will be available. Kansas middle school, junior high and high school track and field athletes are ineligible to compete under KSHSAA rules. Strollers are welcome but should line up toward the back. No pets, scooters, skates, or skateboards are allowed, and race results will be posted at timerguys.com. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
