Event details
The Escape the Elves event takes place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, in Oakwood, GA at the Oakwood Community Center (4101 Railroad St). The event program includes a 5K Run/Walk, a Fun Run, and a Virtual Runner option. The 5K course is USATF certified and is planned to start at the Oakwood Community Center. Packet pick-up locations are listed at 5512 Main St, Flowery Branch on December 11 and December 12, and additional packet pick-up will be available at the Oakwood Community Center on race morning.
The event features a Best Dressed Award for festive outfits. Awards will be given to Top Overall Male and Female, and the top two male and female finishers in the following age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.

Event prices listed are $30 for the 5K Run/Walk, $20 for the Fun Run, and $30 for the Virtual Runner. The event encourages bringing a canned food item for the South Hall Food Pantry. Proceeds will benefit the South Hall Food Pantry, Lanier Tech’s Adult Education Scholarships, Hall is Home for Kids, Shelterbox, Alzheimer's research through Rotary’s CART Fund, and the South Hall Rotary S.H.A.R.E. Fund.
A post-race Pancakes with Buddy breakfast will be offered at the Community Center for $10 per plate; to-go meals will be available and registrants will receive information by email about purchasing tickets.
