Everyday Heroes Race 2 Rescue : Overview
The event is a community color run and walk offering a 5K and a 1 mile option. It takes place at Stony Creek Metropark, Eastwood Beach, 4300 Main Park Dr., Shelby Township, MI 48316. The course is a road race on paved surfaces. Participants may run, walk, or do both; strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Color blast stations are part of the route and can be passed through or avoided.

The event includes educational exhibits and safety information, with local first responder participation from the Michigan State Police, the Macomb County Sheriff’s office, and local fire and rescue units. Educational topics listed include online safety, 911 safety, fire safety, stranger danger, and water safety. On-site features include music by Divergence, an after-party with food, and a raffle (tickets priced at $1 each, 6 for $5, and 12 for $10). Medals are awarded to the first 100 finishers, and the overall top male and female finishers receive a $50 gift card. Proceeds are donated to DMI, a 501(c)(3) organization.
