The Festivus For The Rest Of Us 5k is scheduled for December 14, 2025 in New Florence, PA at the New Florence Fire Hall, 177 13th St. It is the fifth annual running of this event. All proceeds go to the New Florence Volunteer Fire Company. The event includes these distances:
- 5k run
- 5k walk
Registration fees: $20 until November 23, 2025, $25 after that until registration closes, and $30 on race day. Children 10 and under are free until registration closes; day-of child registration is $10. T-shirts are a $10 add-on and the shirt order deadline is November 23, 2025. The event uses chip timing and results will be posted online. Race packet pickup is at the New Florence Fire Hall on race morning.
Course, logistics and rules
The course is exactly 3.10 miles. The start is in front of the former New Florence ambulance garage beside the fire hall. The route briefly uses Route 711 and Boswell Road, runs past the Laurel Hill Iron Furnace and includes a turnaround, then returns toward town and finishes near the start. The course has a net elevation gain in the first half and a net decline in the second half.
There is one water stop near the furnace at about 1.45 miles and a trash can at that location. Parking is at the fire hall and nearby playground. Pets are allowed on course but must be leashed and cleaned up after; off-leash or uncontrolled animals may cause disqualification. Awards: top 3 overall men and women and top 3 in listed age groups for both run and walk; awards are not mailed. No refunds or transfers are offered.
