Event
The Set Your Year On Fire 5k is scheduled for Sunday, January 4, 2026 in Ligonier, PA (203 Boquet Street; coordinates 40.247321, -79.234746). The event is a benefit for the Ligonier Borough Volunteer Fire Company; all proceeds go directly to the fire company. Two event options are offered:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
Pricing and registration details are specified by the organizer, including early and late registration fees, a shirt add-on deadline, and day-of registration rules. Children 10 and under have a special pricing option before registration closes; children must run under their own power to be eligible for age-group awards. Chip timing is used and bibs should be worn on the front for accurate results. Awards are not mailed.
Course, services and rules
The course is mostly an out-and-back on the Ligonier Valley Trail. The route begins near Weller Field, reaches a bridge about 0.25 miles in, and continues to a turnaround point 1.62 miles from the start marked by a large white historical sign. A water stop is located at the trailhead by the baseball field and is passed twice. The finish line is in the lower parking lot near the batting cages. The trail is described as fairly flat and largely straight; it will not be plowed and weather may affect conditions. Time limit for results and awards is 1 hour 5 minutes. Pets on leash, strollers, and headphones are permitted under the event rules; violations may result in disqualification.
