Fool's Gold takes place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in DFW, TX 75043. The event offers multiple participation options and a virtual alternative. Registration fees listed in the event information are: 5K $35, 1 Mile $18, Virtual Option $40, Kid's Dash free. Price increases for the 5K and 1 Mile after December 31, 2025. Registration deadlines for the Kid's Dash and the Virtual Option end April 1, 2026. Participants who register by March 18 are guaranteed their t-shirt size.

A mapped 5K course is available online. The 1 Mile is an untimed event and does not include age group awards. The Virtual Option includes shipping of the race shirt and medal the week of the race.
Awards, extras, and volunteering
Finisher medals and event-themed participation shirts are included for the 5K and 1 Mile. Top four finishers in each age group for the 5K receive an additional medal. Age group awards for the 5K are given four deep across male and female divisions from 0-4 up to 80+. Overall awards include overall male and female, male and female masters (40+), and male and female grand masters (60+). Awards are distributed at the event and will not be shipped. Kid’s Dash entrants run free and may purchase a t-shirt or finisher medal as add-ons. Volunteers receive a code for a free race entry as a thank-you.
