The Freaky 5's Five Mile and 5K is a Halloween-themed running event on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Hayes Park, 9200 Midland Rd, Freeland, MI. Races start and finish on the Great Lakes Regional Trail in front of Hayes Park. Courses are out-and-back on a new section of trail that runs parallel to Old Midland Rd, passes Pine Grove Cemetery, then turns toward the Tittabawassee River and continues on open trail with no vehicle crossings. The event is limited to 400 participants.

Registration, timing, awards and logistics
The 5 Mile and 5K events are timed under USATF sanctioning; the Fun Run is not timed. Entry includes a custom finisher medal, a race t-shirt if the participant chose the shirt option by the specified deadline, professional timing results, and a free online finisher photograph. Packet pickup and late registration take place at Hayes Park on race day.
Awards are provided three deep for overall male and female finishers in the 5 Mile and 5K. Overall winners receive entry to the next year’s event and lower-place finishers receive discounted entry. Costume contests for youth and adults include gift certificate prizes. Results will be posted online within 48 hours. Refunds are not provided except if the event is cancelled for reasons within the organizers’ control. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
