The Free State Trail Run, held in Meriden, Kansas, offers challenging distances including a 40-mile, marathon, half marathon, and quarter marathon (6.75 miles). The race takes place on 100% single-track, rocky, and technical trails through a hardwood forest with moderate elevation changes and occasional views of Lake Perry. The course consists of a 6.75-mile loop, repeated according to distance, designed for safety and quick evacuation in severe weather.

Aid stations are located at the start/finish and mile 3, with hydration strongly recommended. Participants receive swag such as T-shirts and mugs, and finishers earn distance-specific awards. Pacers and canine companions are allowed under specific rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
