Frosty Fat Sass

Frosty Fat Sass is a family-friendly trail party in West Orange, New Jersey, held at the Turtleback Rock Picnic Area in the South Mountain Reservation. It offers a 5K loop and timed options of 3 hours or 6 hours, plus a new Rucking division with lightweight (15 lb) and heavyweight (30 lb) packs. The course uses the organizers’ established 5K loop, featuring about 289 feet of gain, with wide dirt carriage roads and rocky singletrack, including early descents and a mid-course climb.

Proceeds benefit the South Mountain Conservancy, with more than $20,000 raised since 2018. It’s self-supported—no aid stations or finish-line swag—and pacers are allowed for older or disabled participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
