Frosty Moss Relay — Port Angeles, Washington (March 14, 2026)
Frosty Moss is a relay event on the Olympic Peninsula that follows the Olympic Discovery Trail (paved multiuse path) and the Olympic Adventure Trail (singletrack). The full relay traces the route from the Camp Creek Trailhead along the Sol Duc River to Blyn at Sequim Bay. The event website describes evergreen forests, moss and ferns, waterfront views, and snowcapped mountains along the course. Peninsula Adventure Sports produces the event. A post-race celebration and awards take place at 7 Cedars Resort, which hosts food and drinks after the race. A portion of proceeds is donated to exchange hosts, Clallam County ARES, Clallam County CERT, and the Peninsula Trails Coalition.
Race formats, entries and logistics
- 80 miles - 15 legs - teams of 2–5
- 30 miles - 8 legs - teams of 2–4
- 50K (Mini Moss Solo) - solo on the Mini Moss route
Relay legs vary by event: Full Moss legs mix paved and singletrack distances of about 3–11 miles; Mini Moss legs are paved and about 3–5 miles each. Teams must estimate an average pace (teams should average a 12-minute mile or faster). Registration is limited (Full Moss: 60 teams; Mini Moss: 45 teams) and has set per-runner fees with scheduled increases.
