Gear Western Country Half Marathon and Borton Volvo 5k
The event takes place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Gear West Ski and Bike, 1786 W. Wayzata Blvd., Long Lake, MN. The course uses quiet country roads, rolling hills, lakeside sections and crushed limestone trails. The event includes Western-themed post-race refreshments, live music, and an awards ceremony. Dogs on a leash and strollers are allowed, and participants can wait inside the store before the race.

Packet pickup and late registration are available the day before and the morning of the event. Awards include top 3 overall for each distance, five-year age groups (including 19 & under and 70+), a Spirit Award for best Western outfit (special bonus if running in cowboy boots), and a Red Lantern Award. All finishers receive a double-walled insulated mug with a carabiner handle. A crew neck sweatshirt is offered as an optional purchase. Group entries of 10 or more qualify for discounted pricing and organizer perks; a spirit prize is awarded to a top group. Course maps are provided by the organizer.
