The Girls on the Run of the Greater Piedmont 5K takes place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Salisbury Community Park, 935 Hurley School Rd., Salisbury, NC 28147. The event program includes the following races:
- 5K Run & Walk
- Kid's Dash
All community runners receive a GOTR 5K T-shirt and a GOTR medal with registration. The Kid's Dash is a new pre-race event and its participants will receive a special medal. Alumni registrants receive a special alumni bib.
Purpose and program
Proceeds from the race go to the local Girls on the Run nonprofit to support program financial assistance. Girls on the Run is a non-competitive after-school program for girls in grades 3-8 that combines running with social-emotional lessons. The program runs for 10 weeks and is led by volunteer coaches who work with participants through practice and an end-of-season 5K. The race supports local program costs to help more girls participate regardless of financial need. The Kid's Dash entry fee is listed as $15.
