Event overview
Glow in the Park 5K is the Fourth Annual evening 5K held at Fisher River Park in Dobson, North Carolina (251 County Home Road, Dobson, NC 27017). The trails will be lit with blacklights, glow paint, and glow balloons. The event is organized by Surry County Parks and Recreation and Surry County Health and Nutrition Center and will use chip timing for official results. The race field is capped at 225 runners.
Details and logistics
Registration fee is $20 and includes a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt; registrants must register by October 1 to be guaranteed a shirt. Activities before and after the race include inflatable games, hayrides, pumpkin carving, food trucks, a free concert at the amphitheatre, snacks, s'mores, bonfires, and games. There is a costume contest with two divisions (12 and under, and 12+); winners will receive a prize and are encouraged to run in costume. Every finisher receives a custom medal. Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in these age divisions: female and male 14 and under, female and male 15-49, and female and male 50+.
