GOAT Run : basic info
The GOAT Run takes place on Saturday September 12, 2026 in Port Angeles, WA at the Olympic Adventure Trail. The event includes the following distances:

Course, logistics and policies
The route traverses Kelly Ridge between Olympic National Park and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It follows the single-track Adventure Trail for most of the course, with some unpaved forest road and less than a mile on pavement. The finish line is at Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park. The course reaches a maximum elevation of 1,619 feet. Cumulative elevation gain is about 1,500 ft for the half (note: half is about 14 miles), 3,500 ft for the marathon, and 3,700 ft for the 50K.
Included for runners are a well-marked course, food and snacks at water stations, custom race swag, a free shuttle to the start, chip timing, and an after-party at Log Cabin Resort with heavy snacks and water/electrolyte. A beer and cider garden will be available at the finish; bring cash or card. The event is cupless: disposable cups are eliminated and runners must carry their own hydration vessel. A portion of proceeds is donated to the Peninsula Trails Coalition and the Peninsula Chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of Washington. Refund and transfer rules: 50% refund until August 15, no refunds after that date, transfers allowed until three days before the race, and an insurance option is available; if the race is cancelled, entries can transfer to the next year or receive an 80% refund.
