Event overview
The Gobble ‘n’ Scoop 5K and Fun Run takes place in Newberg, Oregon, on Thursday, November 27, 2025. The event starts and finishes at Jem 100 Ice Cream Saloon. It includes the following distances:
- 5K run/walk
- Kids Fun Run
Participants in the 5K receive a T-shirt and a free scoop of ice cream. Proceeds from the event support TVFDs Toy and Joy program. This is the event's second annual running.
Course and logistics
The route has been modified because of sidewalk construction on College Street. A 2-mile turn-off is available at Pinehurst Street for those who do not want the full 5K; the turn will be marked by a sign holder. The event is untimed and no streets will be closed. Participants must obey traffic laws, stay on sidewalks or the right side of the road, and yield to vehicles. Volunteers will be at turns holding red and white direction signs.
Strollers and dogs are allowed on the route at the owner’s risk; dogs must be well behaved. Jem 100’s parking lot will be closed for the event. Street parking and three public parking lots within walking distance are suggested: the cultural center, the public library, and the lot off 2nd Street behind downtown businesses.
