Event overview
ORRC Ralph's Run is a multi-distance running and walking event held in Forest Grove, Oregon. The event offers the following distances:
- 20.26K run
- 10K run and 10K walk
- 5K run and 5K walk
- Kids Run - 1/4 mile around the school track
Registration is online only. The race uses dynamic bib assignment at packet pick-up. Family pricing is offered for up to two adults and three children; the family rate is not available for day-of registrations. Race fees are not refundable but may be transferred to other ORRC events.
Location, course and logistics
All courses start and finish at Tom McCall Upper Elementary School (1341 Pacific Ave), with routes on local back roads through wine country. The 20.26K and 10K share the first three miles, split, then rejoin for the final 1.5 miles. The 5K is an out-and-back over the last 1.5 miles of the 10K and includes a hill by the cemetery. This is not a closed course; participants should follow the Rules of the Road and keep left when running against traffic.
Aid stations supply water, Gatorade, GU packets and snacks at specified mile markers for the 20.26K and 10K. The event is chip timed and results are posted on ORRC's website. Awards include plaques for overall male, female and nonbinary winners in open and masters divisions, age-group ribbons, a caboose award for the last finisher, and Fitsoks for participants. Pancake feed, a raffle, shoe recycling, and volunteer opportunities are part of the event. Dogs are not permitted; strollers are allowed and headphones are discouraged.
