Course, cutoffs, gear and policies
Courses use colored trail loops: the half marathon uses the blue trail; the marathon uses the white and blue trails; the 50-mile and 100-mile use blue, white, yellow and red trails; the 15K (Sunday) uses the yellow trail. The 100-mile distance lists about 4,000 feet of elevation gain and is described as non-technical. The 100-mile cutoff is 30 hours. The 15K has a 3.5-hour cutoff; the 50-mile, marathon and half marathon are stated to have generous cutoffs.
Runners receive a soft race shirt; 100-mile registrants may receive a long-sleeve shirt if registered before the organizer’s shirt order cutoff. Finishers earn distance-specific awards: the 100 Mile offers sub-20, sub-24 or Finisher buckles; other distances earn medals. Volunteers earn race credits that can transfer; cancellation more than 30 days before the event yields 100% race credit, cancellations 30 to 14 days prior yield 50% race credit, and no refunds or transfers are allowed less than two weeks before race day. Credits must be used within one year, with possible exceptions for medical or military reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
